Mark Gower OBE - Director

Mark is a former senior police officer of New Scotland Yard and SO15 Counter Terrorism Command with a career spanning 34 years. This culminated in him becoming the senior police advisor on security sector reform for the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office to the Ministry of Interior Affairs of The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. He led organisational transformation, implemented global threat mitigation methods and border security solutions. He has been invited to deliver presentations across the globe to share expertise for training and mentoring of organisational leaders, most recently, in The Kurdistan Republic of Iraq (2022)

Mark is a recognised and respected expert in counter-terrorism, security and homicide investigations. He led on numerous high-profile cases, including those related to the 2017 London terror attacks. Mark has wide ranging international expertise, cultural awareness and diplomacy, operating globally in challenging and politically charged environments. He was the UK’s senior Investigator for the Coroner at the inquest into a terrorist incident in Tunisia in 2015 where 30 UK citizens were tragically killed. In recognition of his dedication, commitment and professionalism Mark was awarded an OBE for services to policing in 2019.

He provides strategic expertise and influence from tactical delivery through to ministerial level engagement, placing great emphasis on improving public protection.
